CAIR-NY continues to actively engage with the media to ensure that a fair and accurate portrayal of Islam and Muslims is presented to the American public through media appearances, press conferences, opinion editorials and letters to the editor. Moreover, CAIR-NY’s staff monitors local media with the aim of reinforcing positive representations of Muslims. As such, in 2008 CAIR-NY was featured, quoted or reported by national, local and ethnic media outlets.
